Raising money for Gift of Life is my Bat Mitzvah project. I am doing this in memory of my Great Aunt, Sherry Jacobs who died of aplastic anemia at the age of 28. Thirty years later, Sherry's son Jonathan Jacobs died at the age of 36 from Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. The cure for both is a bone marrow transplant. On October 23rd I will be holding a garage sale to benefit Gift of Life. Your trash maybe someone else's treasure (or life). We are accepting donations for the garage sale. We are also accepting monetary donations through the Gift of Life website. Thank you for helping such a great cause.

The garage sale was great!

Thanks to everyone who helped either by donating items, giving donations or buying from it. I could have not done it with out you. So far we have raised over $1000. We are still making more. The things that were worth somthing and did not sell have gone to consignment stores to earn money for the gift of life. Other things like clothes that were worth somthing, my mom is selling on ebay to raise some more money for the gift of life. sadly some things did not sell, but they went to the kidney fund and goodwill.
